From ClusterTruck to table: An Indy business expands
ClusterTruck, the Indy-based food delivery service, is looking to expand, Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017.
ClusterTruck has found a new home in Carmel.
The popular delivery street food restaurant is opening a location at the Kroger on Range Line Road by the end of January, chief operating officer Brian Howenstein told IndyStar.
ClusterTruck has delivery kitchens in downtown Indianapolis, Broad Ripple, Castleton and Fishers.
The restaurant previously leased delivery kitchen space in the old Max & Erma’s restaurant on the west side of Carmel, but closed it in October after the city announced plans for the new Republic Airways headquarters at the existing shopping center.
“We’re excited to be back,” Howenstein said. “We’ve definitely heard from lots of customers. They’ve been asking, you know, when are we going to be open back up? So we’re coming very soon.”
New shopping option: Carmel is getting a new grocery store
The Carmel ClusterTruck will replace the deli preparation area inside the Range Line Road Kroger, according to plans submitted to the city.
The ClusterTruck delivery area for Carmel might adjust due to the move further east from the previous kitchen, Howenstein said. But the new Kroger location will offer pickup as well as delivery, he said.

“We’ll have a pickup counter and customers will be able to come in and actually do pickup orders similar to the way our Fishers location is,” he said.
Howenstein said Carmel is a “great” market, adding to locations the restaurant has established outside of downtown Indianapolis.
“It’s really exciting having a location not just downtown, but having one in Broad Ripple, having one in Carmel, having one in Fishers, having one in Castleton now,” Howenstein said. “Folks who work downtown now, anytime a day you can order from ClusterTruck.”
In addition to Indianapolis-area locations, ClusterTruck also operates in Kansas City, Missouri and Ohio sites in downtown Columbus and Dublin.
